Reliability & Compliance Engineering Supervisor
Merseyside
Full-time days | 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
£52K + strong benefits package
Established corporate organisation
Excellent opportunities for training and career progression

Have you focused on reliability and compliance in your current engineering role and want to continue down that path, ensuring equipment and processes are working at their best? If you enjoy structure, being organised, and understand the importance of equipment performance and reliability, this could be the ideal role for you.

Or maybe it hasn’t been your main focus, but it’s part of your day-to-day — and it’s something you’d like to do more of.

This role would suit someone who leans into analysis to identify issues and get to the root cause. Coming up with new ideas and delivering practical solutions is critical for both engineering and operations.

Ideally, you’ll have worked in food production or another fast-paced industry. Maybe you’ve already stepped up to lead a small team – or you’re ready for that next move.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Keeping a close eye on equipment performance and finding ways to reduce downtime
  • Implementing robust maintenance plans for plant and equipment
  • Carrying out analysis on downtime and breakdowns using root cause analysis to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Taking a detailed and refined approach to monitoring and testing equipment performance and reliability
  • Making sure the CMMS is used effectively, and data is monitored and acted upon
  • Managing and working closely with one direct report
  • Ensuring all work meets food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards
  • Ensuring availability of spare parts and inventory
  • Working with production teams to solve problems and get things back on track quickly

What we’re looking for:

  • Engineering experience in food, FMCG, or another fast-paced environment
  • Some supervisory or managerial experience
  • A solid understanding of maintenance, compliance, and safety standards
  • Someone practical, hands-on, and down-to-earth
  • A team player who leads by example, builds rapport, and works well with all functions
  • Ideally, electrically biased – but not essential
  • Experience using CMMS systems and a strong understanding of reliability and compliance
  • Full UK driving licence

There’s a real opportunity to make an impact in this role. With just one direct report, you’ll work closely and be recognised as the site go-to person – a key member of the Engineering team. The wider team is well established, so there’s a great opportunity to learn from their experience and knowledge.

If this sounds like you, please apply with our cv and we can take it from there.  We have other engineering roles that aren’t advertised so if you are up for relocation for other vacancies we are working on, please highlight the details on your application.
