In our industry food is at the forefront of what we do. We help recruit the clever ‘behind the scenes’ people that keep the manufacturing sites ticking along and our supermarket shelves stocked and full of choice. We are very aware though that many people in the UK are thinking about food for different reasons, they may not know where their next meal is coming from or go without so their family can eat – an ever increasing pressure in the current climate.
FareShare is the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. They redistribute thousands of tonnes of surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. It is sent to over 1500 towns and cities across the country so charities can turn it into meals for vulnerable people. The food FareShare redistributed last year contributed towards 57.3 million meals.
We donate to FareShare every month as giving back and showing our support for this important charity has always been important to us both.
