Overview of day to day responsibilities:

• Have a strong presence in the factory.
• Supervise a small team of QA’s in food manufacturing, taking accountability for your team’s performance while promoting and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
• Conduct audits and inspections of the production facility including the processes and products to ensure compliance with specification, retail and company standards.
• Direct food safety and quality improvement projects to ensure excellence in product standards.
• Coordinate, prioritise, and delegate daily responsibilities for your team to ensure the timely completion of audits, verifications, and compliance tasks
• Conduct internal training and provide guidance on quality assurance principles and practices.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records and documentation of audit findings and actions.
• Build and interpret data from audits to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
• Participate in the continual development of the Quality Management Systems on site and highlight any changes to the production and engineering teams.
• Support the implementation of the Quality Plan focusing on GMP, hygiene, traceability and the audit schedule.

In terms of background the ideal candidate will have:

• Ideally a background in QA in the food industry.
• Good understanding of GMP and promoting high standards.
• Comfortable being in a busy factory, communicating clearly and openly with staff in all functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to support successful audits.
