A senior engineering role for those at that level looking for a new challenge and possibly relocation to the South Coast. As the Chief engineer you would develop the structures and redefine/review the engineering agenda.  This is a critical role for the business, and we are looking for an expert that wants to be involved and be amongst other members of a practical senior leadership team – Does this sound like you?

 

The site is embarking on a continuous improvement journey to become more efficient in its operations. This requires the team to look differently at the process’ and understand the business from an end-to-end prospect not purely a functional perspective. The Chief engineer will play a key role in the next phase of the site development, working with the Head of Continuous Improvement to drive positive change.

 

Leading a team of shift engineering managers/maintenance managers to support the level of quality and customer service this business works to is all part of the challenge. Balancing the needs of the strategic agenda and daily activities that come with this type of role requires an individual who is comfortable being involved in the factory close to the team, driving that ‘one team’ culture and setting the strategy.

Are you looking for your next assignment?  You need food industry experience for this contract – they work at pace and it’s a complex environment.  There’s a great team of engineers and an experienced operations manager to work alongside – the ideal duo taking the site forward.

It’s a smallish site but as mentioned above, it is complex with short lead times.  Supplying multiple customers in the retail and foodservice sector, you need to be structured and have proven skills in pulling teams together, giving them an organised and planned approach.  That ever important start-up time – the ‘golden hour’ – is just as critical.  Is the PPM schedule as good as it should be? Is everyone sticking to it?  How do engineering and ops work together to be as efficient as possible?  What barriers are in the way and how can we remove them to give the site a first-class engineering team?

Processes are in place of course but there is a need to drive improvements across the function and revisiting the KPIs to drive efficiencies.  Being that senior engineering presence on the site, supporting, guiding, and motivating the engineering team will make all the difference.  There’s a lot to do, as there always is in every interim assignment, but the team all have the right attitude and skills, it just needs someone to bring in more structure and organisation.

The role

• Production Manager for a medium sized food production facility where you have an opportunity to come in and make a difference.
• Inclusive and engaging Site Lead.
• Real opportunity on site to make your mark, grow the role and progress your operations career.
• Working closely with the Site Lead and other functions to ensure maximum capacity in production.
• Heading up the production team, working closely with them, actively involved in the day to day as well as being a passionate leader of the team.
• Develop the production team through coaching and training.
• Work closely with process on new products being launched.
• High degree of autonomy in the role.

 

You need the following experience for this role

• Food manufacturing experience in a production role.
• A background at senior Shift Manager or Production Manager level.
• Able to demonstrate improvements in KPIs and overall performance working with and through teams.
• Solid manufacturing knowledge working with SIC and KPI measures.
• You know the factory, your team and are present on the shop floor to understand what can be tweaked and changed to make those key improvements.
• Enjoying the challenge of fast paced manufacturing, a confident decision maker able to think at speed and react.
• Comfortable leading a team and being a part of it.
• You like to be involved and in the heart of the factory.

Opportunity for a SHE Manager in a stunning part of the UK!

 

A unique role for an experienced SHE Manager – you could be looking to move to the South Coast or ready for a change, perhaps you have manufacturing experience but keen to move into the food manufacturing sector?  The food industry is a dynamic and fast paced industry offering great opportunities as it is one of the UK’s main manufacturing sectors.

 

For this role we need a good communicator who can drive the SHE agenda on site, challenge when required, be out on the factory floor and be heard – in the right way!

 

The Business

This business has made great steps in their SHE Management programme but as always, there is more to do.  Reporting straight into the Site Director, this is a Senior Management position.  Other areas to highlight:

• Fast-paced food manufacturer

• Supplying multiple retail and non-retail customers
• Branded and own label product categories
• Real variety of activities
• Wider Group SHE team to reach out to for standard practice

 

The key responsibilities for this SHE Manager:

• Be responsible for the SHE Strategy and site plans
• Be a well-known face in the factory
• Challenge and be the voice of SHE for the site
• Ensure full legal compliance for SHE
• Attentive to detail around collation and maintenance of key statistics
• Upskilling the team and raising awareness of SHE across the site
• Having an immediate impact on behaviours, processes, and procedures
• Encouraging a right first-time culture
• Empowering the site teams – everyone on site – to make safety a priority

 

What experience do you need?

• Significant experience in a SHE role – ideally in the food industry but if not, must have manufacturing experience e.g. Pharmaceutical, engineering, automotive, chemicals
• Strong communicator who will challenge and engage with gravitas at every level
• Environmental experience would be an advantage
• Knowledge and experience of working with an Environmental Permit
• NEBOSH qualified
• Previous success in driving improvements through engagement and being involved out in the factory
• Organised and structured approach, able to flex to changing priorities
