Ideal opportunity for someone who understands the demands of managing a major UK retailer account in the food industry in terms of pace and dynamics involved in supplying one of the UK’s major multiples.  This role needs a self-starter who can work autonomously and manage this large account reporting into the Director.

Senior National Account Manager Role

• Managing a major UK multiple and a key customer for the business.
• Implementing and delivering business plans.
• Aligning with and engaging fully with all areas of the business.
• Working autonomously in a deadline driven product category.
• Being the go to for the customer and within the business for the account.
• Developing the account whilst maintaining the strong relationship in place.
• Detailed understanding of category management principles utilising critical data to drive growth.
• Effective management of internal relationships drawing on excellent communication skills to ensure all involved are constantly updated on this major account.
• Presentations at Board level internally and every level with the customer.
• Wider business awareness, understanding what can affect the commercials to aid effective forecasting.
• Acting confidently as an ambassador for the business.

 

Your background and experience

• Proven successful commercial career in the food industry managing one of the major UK food retailers.
• Intuitive and proactive approach.
• High degree of emotional intelligence and strategic thinking.
• Experience of adding value to major retail accounts.
• Ambitious, looking for future career development to director level.
• Strong influencing and communication skills and the gravitas required at this level.
• Numerically adept.
• Autonomous.
• Accurate with strong attention to detail – essential for this level of commercial role.
